Albert Einstein once said, “True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist”. This statement encompasses most of the nature of being an artist, and why human beings create. It is my opinion that art developed with language (origin dates are impossible to determine for either). The need to communicate does not stop with the tongue; communication takes place also with hands and body. The nature of art is a conversation, a message between the viewer and the artist, a subliminal and primal mutual understanding. A painting can hold a soft whisper of comfort, or a screaming testament of injustice. But all art is vanity.
